Why now?

I dreamt of getting into the Sir JJ School of Art, Bombay years back- cannot remember when but somewhere down the grandparents visits to Bombay as a child, visiting Jehangir art gallery with parents, getting family portraits done by artists sitting outside the gallery and seeing my dad paint at home- sub consciously a decision was made!

The past 4 years have been life changing; finished studies at JJ, got married to the love of my life, came and settled into a new country, met new people, made a few good friends, studied one year on a course which bored the hell out of me (long story!), learnt to cook, managed my home and 3 years slogged at work- all this while my art took a back seat and it observed my new experiences- I let my art take second priority; initially working on canvases on weekends, then fortnights, months and then once in a blue moon! One fine day, the artist struggling inside me finally freed itself…  and now here I am, 13 June 2011 onward- recording my thoughts, sharing my art experiences, my dialogue with the canvases, my happiness after seeing  a work finished, my frustration on not getting it right- my roller coaster ride!
